Whitney Houston's death prompted Elton John to speak out about sobriety. Despite his countless hits, awards, successful relationship and recent fatherhood status, the 65-year-old rocker says his biggest accomplishment is getting sober in 1990.
Elton told E! News, "I could have so easily ended up like Whitney Houston. It's a miracle I didn't because I'm sure I did as much cocaine as she ever did."
He credits getting clean to turning his life around instead of being six feet under. He added, "I would not be the person I am today [if I hadn't.] I wouldn't have [my son] Zachary, [my husband] David. I wouldn't have anything. I'd probably be dead."
It looks like more happiness may be on the way for Elton. A source told the Daily Mirror he and partner David Furnish have plans to expand their family with another child!
"The wheels are in motion. David and Elton have never hidden their desire to extend their family, and believe the time is right for another child. By the end of this year, or the beginning of next year, there will be a fourth member of the John-Furnish clan. They are incredibly excited and loving every minute of parenthood."
