With only a few weeks left on Wisteria Lane, Eva Longoria is getting ready to say goodbye to the show that made her a household name. The actress sat down with Katie Couric to talk about her run on Desperate Housewives, how her divorce affected her work, and what she really thinks about Nicollette Sheridan's case against Marc Cherry

"I remember sitting in the trailer and co-star Marcia Cross saying, 'You know, your life's about to change. Our lives are about to change,'" Eva told Katie on Good Morning America while discussing the first days on the set of the ABC show, which is ending after eight seasons.

But Eva's life didn't just change professionally over the past eight years, it changed personally as well. The actress began dating basketballer Tony Parker in November 2004, and eventually the couple tied the knot in 2007. But after three short years, Eva and Tony ended their marriage and got into a highly publicized divorce battle over his reported infidelity.

"I think I handled it as gracefully as I could, and it was painful but life goes on," Eva said of the divorce, which was finalized in January 2011. "I always said I hold on to the love and not the loss. I think the press also wanted me to hate him and villainize him. And I don't. And I didn't."

Something else that caught the attention of the world was former Desperate Housewives star Nicollette Sheridan's wrongful termination trial against the network, in which she claimed creator Marc Cherry hit her during a rehearsal. The case was declared a mistrial on March 19, but Eva still admits it took its toll on the entire cast and crew.

"I was surprised that there was even a trial and it went that far," she explains on GMA. "I love Nicollette, and I love Marc Cherry, and I love our work environment. It's a stain on our legacy as a hit show. It was just unfortunate, the whole thing."

Make sure to tune into the final few episodes of Desperate Housewives before the finale on May 13.
