In 2004, indy film Napoleon Dynamite, which follows a group of misfits trying to get their unpopular friend elected as class President, broke box office records and shattered expectations by becoming a huge cult classic.
The stars of the movie Jon Heder (Napoleon) and Efren Ramirez (Pedro) will be live Tweeting this Sunday at November 4 at 7 PM PST in honor of the upcoming Presidential election.
Jon and Efren are going to open up about their experiences with the film and Tweet exclusive behind the scenes stories this one time only.
The two are part of an underground group on Twitter that is starting to become more well known called Sunday Night Movie Tweet Along or #SMTA.
Celebs who participate include David Arquette, Chas Bono, Lindsay Vonn, Ethan Embry and “where are they now” types like Dennis Hankins (Mr Belding from Saved by the Bell) and William Zabka – the evil villain who played Johnny in Karate Kidd.
The Sunday Night Movie Tweet Along started with just 10 people live Tweeting movies like ET and Top Gun while totally making fun of them and has since turned into nearly 10 million people.
There are also fun celeb guests like Andrew McCarthy who live Tweeted about St. Elmo’s Fire.
