Kristen Stewart received a warm welcome from fans Thursday night at the red carpet premiere of On the Road at the Toronto International Film Festival.
This was her first time talking to the media since news broke of her affair with Rupert Sanders — her Snow White and the Huntsman director — and she got a lot of support from everyone as she braved the press line.
People held up signs that read, "Talent, Beauty, Strength and Courage — We stand by Kristen always," and "We are always with you Kristen Stewart."
The 22-year-old was taken aback by the number of devotees who came to event, and she told MTV News, "Dude, I'm really happy that they're here for On the Road, " she said. "I think most of them were fans before I had anything to do with it, which is why they're here anyway, so it's awesome."
Meanwhile, her ex, Robert Pattinson, and the cast of Twilight were on hand in Los Angeles at the MTV Video Music Awards to present the new trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2. In the footage shown, Bella (Kristen's character) is now a vampire and hunts a mountain lion. "I don't like cats. I'm a dog person. You know what I'm saying?" she joked with MTV.
She was originally scheduled to attend the VMAs with Rob, but after pictures surfaced of her and Rupert making out, the couple of three years broke up and she was asked to leave the Los Feliz home she shared with Rob. She pulled out of the VMAs to avoid any awkwardness. On the Road opens in limited release on Dec. 21.
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2 hits theaters Nov. 16.
