George Michael Says He is "Incredibly Fortunate To Be Here" After Battling Pneumonia

George Michael is out of the hospital, looking gaunt and week, after facing a tough battle with pneumonia.

The "Faith" singer told reporters outside his home in London that he really is not supposed to speak much, since he was still recovering from a tracheotomy, but he did briefly.

"I got streptococca-something... It's a form of pneumonia and they spent three weeks keeping me alive basically. I'm very weak, but I feel amazing," said George, according to Reuters.

"It was basically by far the worst month of my life, but I'm incredibly, incredibly fortunate to be here," he said. "If I wasn't spiritual enough before the last four, five weeks, then I certainly am now."

He has been battling to get well in a hospital in Austria, so he is so thankful to the doctors that he was lucky to have treat him.

"I've spent the last 10 days since I woke up literally thanking people for saving my life, which is something I've never had to do before and never want to have to do again," the Brit said tearfully.
