George Zimmerman was acquitted for the murder of Trayvon Martin just over four months ago, but his run-ins with the law did not end there. He has been arrested yet again, today in Seminole County, Florida.
Zimmerman, now 30, shot and killed unarmed teenager Travyon Martin in February 2012, and his acquittal this summer for second-degree murder and manslaughter was the source of wide-spread controversy and racial unrest. The details of his arrest today are still developing, as he is still in route to county jail at this time, but the arrest occurred after a call about a domestic disturbance.
This isn’t even the first time Zimmerman has forced police intervention since his release in July. In September, his estranged wife Shellie Zimmerman called 911 after she claims Zimmerman threatened her with a gun and punched her father in the nose. She eventually decided to drop an charges. Soon after, Shellie has since alleged that George left a bullet-riddled target on her door.
