Gisele Bündchen is already taking her new gig as a United Nations advocate for environmental awareness seriously -- the Brazilian supermodel is asking her president to do more to stop the deforestation of the Amazon.

The Associated Press reports that Gisele wants Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva to propose better laws to stop the damage being done to the Amazon, which is the world's largest rain forest. Her comments to NYC reporters were printed today in major Brazilian newspapers that covered her comments as she was named a goodwill ambassador for the U.N. Environment Program.
