As our favorites from Glee gear up to say adios to McKinley High when they graduate next spring, the question remains: Does that mean the show’s brass is looking to replace our favorite characters? Find out more after the jump!
On Ryan Seacrest’s radio show last week (via PopEater), Glee creator Ryan Murphy dished about upcoming Season 3. Considering it’ll be senior year for the original cast, he explained, “I don’t think of it in terms of eliminating or replacing. Because I think the thing about this cast is people love them and they are incredibly talented. They’ve left sort of an indelible mark.”
Hmmm, so what does this mean exactly to loyal Gleeks? Sounds like he’s leaning towards being true to the timeline of the series and graduating them off to showcase new talent. He explained, “I think the fun thing about the show is it’s a celebration of youth and talent and I think that just like with the original cast, I think finding those young unknown people and giving them an opportunity to break into the business and become stars is a really fun and exciting thing and is the spirit of the series.”
Ryan did, however, indicate that Matthew Morrison and Jane Lynch are locked in to stay with the show beyond next season. Their characters act as “the male and female lynchpins of the series.”
