Awards Season is officially upon us! Nominees for the 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards were announced this morning in Los Angeles by actors Zoe SaldanaOlivia Wilde and Aziz Ansari, and films 12 Years a Slave and American Hustle walked away with the most nominations. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association honors the year's best in film and television, and along with the Screen Actors Guild Awards, the Golden Globes is usually a precursor to those in the film industry who will pick up shiny new Oscars just a few weeks later.

The event in January will be star-studded as usual, as Tom Hanks, Sandra BullockLeonardo DiCaprio, Meryl Streep, Robert RedfordChristian Bale and Kate Winslet all picked up noms for their starring movie roles—and wouldn't it be nice if Brad Pitt showed up to support his 12 Years a Slave?

The most notable snub from this year's nominations announcement will most likely go to Oprah Winfrey, who failed to garner a nom for her role in Lee Daniel's The Butler, which was completely left out of all major categories.
