Hilary Duff's fiancé clearly knows his ice whether he's in a hockey rink or a jewelry store: the generous NHL star bought the Disney cutie a $1 million engagement ring.

A source close to the Edmonton Oilers center, 29, tells E! Online that Mike bought the 14 karat princess-cut bauble in Las Vegas.

After two years of dating, Mike proposed while he and Hilary, 22, relaxed on a recent vacation in Hawaii.

The pair are also buying a marital home, a $10 million Beverly Hills mansion, says the source.
