Hugh Jackman‘s Real Steel blew away the competition at the box office this weekend, earning $27.3 million!
Fighting robots or political drama?
The choice was easy for moviegoers this weekend, as Real Steel placed first and The Ides of March placed second at the box office.
Hugh teamed up with young star Dakota Goyo for the DreamWorks film, which was executive-produced by Steven Spielberg, MTV News reports. The movie had an estimated $110 million budget, so it’s a very good thing it earned $27.3 million this weekend!
The Ides of March, on the other hand, which was directed and co-written by George himself and co-stars Ryan Gosling, only opened to $10.4 million.
With handsome men George and Ryan in the film together, we’re a little surprised it didn’t do better!
Dolphin Tale fell to No. 3, Brad Pitt‘s Moneyball came in at No. 4 and Joseph Gordon-Levitt‘s 50/50 was No. 5 this weekend.
Are you surprised by this week’s box office results?
