For Brad Womack on season 15 of The Bachelor, romance was whisking away love Emily Maynard to a vineyard or traveling halfway around the world for a hilltop proposal in South Africa. But now that the cameras have stopped rolling and reality is setting in, pals say Brad has a case of cold feet. “He’s concerned what will happen after the show,” Bachelor sources tell OK!. “Most of the couples have had trouble maintaining the relationships.”

Of course, it’s easy to fall in love when you have a crew planning creative dream dates in the most exotic places in the world. The fantasy of The Bachelor is “hard to top,” says an,insider, “so in the real world, things can feel boring.

“Plus, you get to see the best parts of someone while on the show. But when it’s over, you see every side of the person,” adds the friend, good and bad. “Brad’s just a realist; he isn’t thinking that everything will be a fairy tale. He knows it will take a lot of hard work for the relationship to continue to grow.”

That’s especially true with Brad’s checkered past with women. (He rejected both season 11 finalists, DeAnna Pappas and Jenni Croft, at the final rose ceremony.) He realizes he may have something to prove to Emily, who’s a single mom to Ricki, 5.

“It took a lot of therapy and work to get to where he is,” says an insider. “Opening up to someone and being part of a couple are things he’s struggled with, so it’s scary for him. Trust issues don’t just go away because you’re on The Bachelor and you want them to.”
