Forgoing her usual birthday getaway to Mexico, Jennifer Aniston received a huge  surprise when 30 of her closest friends showed up for a memorable celebratory dinner at the Spotted Pig in NYC on Feb. 11.

After Jen confirmed that she’s “been looking and looking” for a permanent New York home during an interview with Good Morning America the previous day, her decision to spend her big day in the West Village underlined her determination to make a fresh start in New York.

With some of Hollywood’s hottest leading men at her table, Jen made a dry joke about which guy she would be linked with, according to an onlooker inside the  restaurant. And with recently single Jake Gyllenhaal being the only available A-lister at the table, Jen’s prediction came true when rumors of a budding romance with the Love and Other Drugs star quickly surfaced.

But, although Jen, 42, and Jake, 30,  undoubtedly “have chemistry,” according to the insider, the pair didn’t even sit together during dinner. “They are not dating. They have been friends for many years,” Jen’s rep confirms to OK!.

Throughout the dinner, Jen looked like she was having a great time, says the eyewitness. “There were a few toasts to her and to the New Year.” And the year ahead is certainly shaping up to be a good one for Jen. Her birthday weekend quickly gave way to a second cause for celebration when her new movie, Just Go With It, topped the box office by taking in $31 million.
