She can’t wait to welcome her second baby this spring, but sources close to Kate Hudson tell OK! in the new issue the actress has endured “awful” morning sickness well into her second trimester. “She would wake up in the middle of the night sick to her stomach — and randomly in the middle of the day,” confides a family friend.“Certain smells made her get sick, but throughout the first few months it would change, so she wouldn’t know what the trigger was.”

Kate’s partner, English rocker Matt Bellamy, turned to a traditional British cure to ease her symptoms. “Matt was really sweet. Whenever he was around he would instinctively go and make her tea,” reveals the friend. “She was always drinking tea with lemon or lemonade to help soothe her stomach. She really had to eat bland food for a while — otherwise she felt ill.”

Despite wanting to focus on her pregnancy, Kate, 31, has also been inundated with questions about whether she’ll marry Matt. “I think Kate is just sick of getting asked all the time,” explains a second family pal. Addressing the issue during an interview with British TV host Graham Norton recently, Kate reasoned, “I already have one child and have had one divorce, so it is not necessarily the golden ticket. I just want to be happy.”
