Jack White & Karon Elson Announce Their Separation With a "Divorce Party" Invitation

Jack White and his singer/model wife Karen Elson have announced they are getting a divorce after six years of marriage. But don't shed any tears over this broken union, because the duo certainly isn't. Instead they are celebrating it with a party.

The couple has issued the following statement, via Pitchfork: "We remain dear and trusted friends and co-parents to our wonderful children Scarlett and Henry Lee. We feel so fortunate for the time we have shared and the time we will continue to spend both separately and together watching our children grow."

And not only are they splitting on amicable terms, they are taking being civil to a whole new level by throwing a party.

"In honor of that time shared, we are throwing a divorce party. An evening together in Nashville to re-affirm our friendship and celebrate the past and future with close friends and family."

The invitation urges guests to help the ex-couple "party to celebrate their 6th anniversary, and their upcoming divorce with a positive swing bang humdinger.

"The party will include dancing, photos, memories, and drinks with alcohol in them. This is only for close personal friends and family so please no plus-ones or deadbeats. Please help us celebrate together the anniversary of the making and breaking of the sacred union of marriage with our best friends and animals."
