Who’s one of the busiest men in Hollywood? Seriously, that would probably be James Franco. The actor, director, screenwriter, painter and professor at NYU has a lot on his plate and recently pulled out of the upcoming biopic: The Iceman. Although it sounds like his hectic schedule wasn’t the main reason, according to one report he pulled out due to contractual terms.

The Iceman is based on Anthony Bruno’s book which weaves the story about a notorious mafia hitman, Richard “The Iceman” Kuklinski. Michael Shannon was going to play the lead role and Ray Liotta would play his employer mob boss. As for James, he was set to play Richard’s mentor assassin, Robert “Mr. Softee” Pronge. Maggie Gyllenhaal was also going to be part of the mafia family.

Sources told JustJared, “James pulled out because he couldn’t come to an agreement on key contractual issues that didn’t involve financial terms. Now it looks like this project might fall apart.”

This year’s Oscar co-host is currently in Detroit, Mich.. He’s filming alongside Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz and Michelle Williams for Oz: The Great and Powerful.
