Celebrity British chef Jamie Oliver revealed on Twitter today that his Italian restaurant was “smashed up” by the London riots.
Jamie initially Tweeted his prayers to those effected by the riots, not knowing that he’d eventually be one of those people.
“my love and thoughts go out to everyone effected by these riots, and all the people i work with who are in the thick of it …be safe …….” the Food Revolution star wrote (via USA Today).
Later he shared the sad news that one of his own restaurants had been effected.
“sadly my restaurant in Birmingham got smashed up windows all gone whole area closed, cant open, staff and customers all safe!!” Jamie Tweeted. “thankfully”
But Jamie was lucky in the support he had fixing up his restaurant.
“what a day …..respect to all the community support on the clean up people have ben amazing!! wasn’t really sure what recipes 2 post today” he shared. “Birmingham restaurant got fixed up quick, sad for many of the other shop owners especially the small family run businesses in this climatex.”
But a clever fan had some suggestions for recipes to share.
“How about Solidarity soup, courage cake, or won’t tolerate it anymore salad?”
