Jersey Shore Cast Sign On To "Restore the Shore" In MTV's Hurricane Sandy Fundraising Special

Seaside Heights in New Jersey was the backdrop to making household names out of Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, Jenni "JWoww" Farley and the rest of the Jersey Shore cast.

And after Hurricane Sandy ripped through the coastal town with devastating effect last week, the reality stars aree giving back to the community and have now banded together with MTV for the "Restore The Shore" fundraising special.

The on air, online and mobile event will take place Thursday November 15 in a bid to encourage people across the country to contribute to help rebuild Seaside Heights.

Ironically, the home used by the reality stars to film their antics during four of the six seasons was still standing although many of the businesses on the popular boardwalk were destroyed.

Paul "Pauly D" DelVecchio, Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Vinny Guadagnino and Deena Cortese have spoken of how sad they are at what has happened to the place they called their second home but are going to put their celebrity to good use to raise as much money as they can.

MTV is partnering with Architecture for Humanity which is a non-profit organization that provides design and construciton services to communities in need and helped in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
