John Mayer has canceled the rest of his European tour due to an unnamed illness. The crooner was currently touring Europe to promote his Battle Studies album, and the show he played earlier this week in Copenhagen will be his last — ending his final week overseas.

An announcement was released on John's Web site today, stating:

"After a sold-out performance in Copenhagen, John Mayer was forced to cancel his second show there on 5/31 due to illness. Regrettably, the illness has caused his remaining European shows scheduled through this week to be canceled as well (Amsterdam, Madrid and Manchester)."

No information about the singer's illness was released, but the condition doesn't seem to be very serious.

The statement also addressed his recovery, "Mayer is returning home to the States and a full recovery is expected under a doctor's supervision."

John kicks off the U.S. leg of the tour on July 16 in Charlotte, NC.
