John Travolta has piloted a plane to the stricken nation of Haiti, carrying relief supplies and a team of doctors and Scientology ministers.
The actor, 55, flew the Boeing 707 from Florida on Monday carrying four tons of ready-to-eat military rations and medical supplies for earthquake victims, reports the Associated Press.
His wife Kelly Preston accompanied him to the Caribbean country on his second trip since the 7.0 magnitude earthquake hit Haiti.
The Church of Scientology says the pair planned to return home after unloading their passengers and supplies.
“We have the ability to actually help make a difference in the situation in Haiti and I just can’t see not using this plane to help,” John said Monday before embarking from Tampa.
The Grease star thanked Qantas Airlines and company head Alan Joyce for their helping hand in the rebuilding efforts.
“Alan is allowing me to fly the Boeing 707 that’s sitting in the backyard, fill it with supplies, fill it with doctors, fill it with volunteer ministers, and take it down to Haiti on Monday — so thank you, thank you, thank you.”
