As new details emerge about Johnny Lewis, the story becomes more dark and disturbed.

His problems with the law have been ongoing for quite some time and began long before he flew into an unexplained fit of rage and beat to death his 81-year-old landlord and her cat before falling to his own demise.

The Sons of Anarchy actor pleaded no contest to assault with a deadly weapon just last month on August 8, according to court records, and a few days later on August 17, Johnny pleaded no contest to the attempted break-in of the woman's house.

He received a year in jail for the crimes, but was let out early for good behavior.

People reports authorities were incredibly worried about Johnny's behavior and warned that he is a danger to himself and others.

"This officer is very concerned for the well being of not only the community but that of the defendant," his probation officer wrote in his report last May. "The defendant will continue to be a threat to any community he may reside in."

But that's not the only probation report that expressed concerned over Johnny.

According to People, one report said the 28-year-old claimed to be struggling on just $20,000 a year citing he was working "as a self-employed actor," and was living with his parents where he "does not contribute monthly towards the rent."

Then in May, another probation report said he was under "some form of chemical dependency, mental health issue and a lack of permanent housing."

"This probation officer believes that a mental health evaluation should be performed in order to protect the community," the report says. "This officer is very concerned for the future safety of the community."

Days after he was released from prison, Johnny committed the horrible act of brutally taking another person's life.

Sources claim Johnny had a psychotic break a few months ago after taking illegal substances and he never completely recovered.

L.A. investigators are pinpointing a new designer drug "Smiles" which is categorized as a 2C-I — a psychedelic with amphetamine qualities — as the street substance he may have ingested before the incident.

Smiles has spread across the country in terrifying speed, leaving a band of overdoses and "bad trip" horror stories in its wake. The drug is characterized as being particularly harmful to those who have "psychotic" tendencies, particularly if too much, or a "bad batch" is ingested.

Finally it has been confirmed, Johnny had a daughter and his former legal adviser, Wendy Feldman, tells E! News that he was going through a difficult custody battle.
