Despite the rumor mill, Justin Bieber will not be traveling to North Korea on an upcoming leg of his My World Tour. Turns out, the “fan context” organized by Faxo.com was a complete hoax, something the teen sensation has become accustomed to.
The fake fan vote led to a message board on the site encourage fans to vote for North Korea as the tour spot — which seemed very strange as the communist nation denies citizens Internet access and the media is tightly monitored by the government.
But within days North Korea moved up the ladder, and today when the faux contest ended, it looked like the country had the most Bieber Fever as it was crowned winner!
“It was a spoof site,” a spokesperson for Justin wrote to MTV News in an e-mail message. “This is not a legitimate contest.”
Then in the aftermath of Bieber Fever not spreading to North Korea, more pranksters made the most-searched term on Google Trends “Justin Bieber Hates Korea,” according to MTV News.
As the Internet pranks continue, however, Justin’s own Internet activity is still on track with his avid Tweets. He is in constant contact with his fans!
He even uses his Twitter to deny all of those rumors that swirl about on what seems to be a daily basis!
