Kate Middleton is Admitted to Hospital With "Acute" Morning Sickness

Rumors have been swirling for weeks that Kate Middleton has a royal bun in the oven and now that the Palace has confirmed she is expecting her first child with Prince William, more details about her pregnancy are starting to come out.

The Duchess of Cambridge is in her first trimester — she's less than 12 weeks along according to People, and she's experiencing "acute" morning sickness.

Kate, 30, has been taken to King Edward VII Hospital which is located in Central London, and William is there with her.

A source says the couple decided to be "open" about her pregnancy because she was admitted to the hospital this afternoon, but adds, "we aren't going into detail about the pregnancy itself," since it's so early.

When breaking the good news, the Palace stated Kate is suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, which can be described as severe nausea and vomiting and can lead to dehydration and dangerous weight loss if left untreated.

"Her Royal Highness is expected to stay in hospital for several days and will require a period of rest thereafter."

William and Kate have been married since April 2011 and both have expressed the desire to become parents sooner rather than later.

"Trying for a baby has been their priority," a royal confidant tells Us. "They're both excited to be focusing on a new chapter in their lives."
