According to a new report, Michael Jackson's mother Katherine Jackson is in the midst of wheeling and dealing to be the producer and to distribute movies about her late son's life. However her plans could come into direct conflict with the official estate of Michael.

TMZ says Katherine is preparing to make the films with hundreds of hours of video footage, from the family's move from Gary, Ind. to L.A., and the subsequent signing of the Jackson with Motown.

There's also another player setting out to make an MJ movie, Howard Mann, who co-wrote "Never Can Say Goodbye" with Katherine. He's purchased 26 hours of video from Michael's former business partner Marc Schaffel.

The big problem is, MJ's estate is the only entity that has the legal right to market the King of Pop's name and image. Even though Katherine and Michael's kids would receive the profits, as beneficiaries of Michael's estate, that doesn't necessarily mean the estate will allow the movies to be made.
