Katie Holmes isn’t singing the blues because of her divorce – she’ll be performing on Broadway instead! The recently single 33-year-old is returning to the theater in NYC, starring in the upcoming play Dead Accounts.
The career move comes just two weeks after her sudden and shocking split from her superstar hubby Tom Cruise, 50.
According to the The New York Times, the actress will portray “a fairly unglamorous character, Lorna, who is living with her aging parents in Cincinnati while trying to pull together her own life.”
The five-character comedy was written by Smash creator Theresa Rebeck, and “centers on one of her siblings, a prodigal son who returns home with secrets, including a load of new money and a missing wife.”
This will be the first time the Dawson’s Creek star will hit the stage on Broadway since she appeared in All My Sons in 2008.
