Kelly Bensimon sizzles on the September cover of Shape magazine, showing off her toned tummy and overall kickin' body. It's certainly hard to believe The Real Housewives of New York City star is a 43-year-old mom of two! Kelly not only shares her workout routine with Shape, but also addressed a bunch of pressing rumors about herself!
Kelly may have had a bit of a breakdown during the RHONY ladies' trip to St. John last season, but she maintains that she is someone who is not afraid to show emotion, nor will she let gossip hounds and haters bring her down. So no more rumors that she is "crazy"!
The reality star also debunks rumors that she is less than intelligent.
"I find it hilarious when someone says I’m not smart,” Kelly, who has a degree in literature and creative writing from Columbia University, tells Shape. “I’ve written three books, including American Style, a review of U.S. fashion, which is a textbook in some schools.” Her fourth book, a fitness and lifestyle guide, will be published next year. “The premise is that you can be healthy, happy, and hot,” says Kelly. Looking at this beautiful, bubbly woman, it’s clear she knows what she’s talking about.
And how about the buzz that Kelly experiments with drugs?
“Everyone always asks me why I wasn’t on the cocaine and vodka diet when I was a model,” she says. “I was going to college and couldn’t be bombed out of my mind.”
And today, Kelly stays true to her health and fitness philosophy.
“My body is like a Ferrari,” says Kelly. “I know what it needs to run well — and that doesn’t include drugs, alcohol, or cigarettes.”
