"Once you finally fall in love with someone and you are so comfortable with them, it makes you more comfortable in your skin," she explained. "It makes you comfortable as an artist and it makes you more confident."

After admitting that she's "head over heels," she recounted how it was love at first sight between her and the former tour manager for Rascal Flats.

Well. At least on her end, Brandon had a girlfriend at the time.

"I was like ‘dude I gotta know that guy,'' she says of meeting him in on tour. "We were just in a room together, and then he came up and said he was from the same home town as me and I was like, ‘oh we’re so getting married,’ I was so that girl. When he became single, I was on the prowl.”

While the pair aren't talking wedding bells just yet, she told Ryan that both she and her beau come from broken homes but they plan to "break that trend one day."

"It’s weird how life kind of puts you in certain situations," she said. "We’re taking it slow, and we’re enjoying each other."

You can purchase 'Catch My Breath' on Oct. 15.
