Kim Kardashian's bridal shower was supposed to be a surprise...and to be held at the Beverly Hills Hotel, but now it appears the cat's out of the bag and there is a change in venue.

You see, according to E! News, the bride-to-be's shower was to be thrown at the Beverly Hills Hotel, but hostesses Kris Jenner and Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian have decided to move the par-tay to a different locale due to controversy surrounding the historic Los Angeles landmark.

Protestors have been picketing the Beverly Hills Hotel because it's owned by the Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkieh, the same man who imposed anti-gay laws in his country, including the stoning of gay people.

Kris, Khloe and Kourtney aren't the first celebs to make a political statement by taking a stance against the Beverly Hills Hotel, Jay Leno joined protestors last Monday and Ellen DeGeneres tweeted she wouldn't be visiting the establishment (or the Hotel Bel-Air, also owned the Sultan's Dorchester Collection) until a resolution is reached.

No word yet on where Kim's best ladies will move the soiree, but surely there are plenty of posh LA-area establishments that would love to host the future Mrs. West's shower.
