Must have been awkward for Robert Pattinson...
Fans of Kristen Stewart are in for a treat if they ever watch director Walter Salles' adaptation of On The Road. The film premiered at Cannes this week and while overall the flick received mix reviews, there's one scene everyone agrees is unforgettable — K-Stew's backseat lovefest with co-stars Sam Riley and Garrett Hedlund.
Kristen plays Marylou the teenage wife of Dean Moriarity (Garrett), who has a wild, uninhibited streak in the 1957 novel by Jack Kerouac. Marylou has a few topless intimate moments with both Dean and Sal Paradise (Sam) in the backseat of a car, leaving many conservative viewers appalled Walter would take such liberties with the young actress.
"The movie industry has a twisted affection for making raunchy films that use and abuse former child stars,” Dan Gainor of the Culture and Media Institute told RadarOnline.com. "How will parents who took their daughters to see the Twilight movies explain this? It is irresponsible of Stewart and manipulative of Hollywood bosses to deliberately try to destroy any sense of decency these actresses might have taught young people.”

That being said, Kristen is pretty proud of the scene and defended it during a press conference in Cannes this week.
"I love pushing. I love scaring myself. I've always wanted to get as close to an experience as I could," she said unapologetically. "I wanted to do the scene."
