Lara Logan Speaks Out on Cairo Sexual Assault for First Time

For the first time since she was sexually assaulted and beaten in Cairo's Tahrir Square two months ago, CBS reporter Lara Logan is speaking out to CBS's 60 Minutes about her horrific experience.

Scott Pelley of 60 Minutes' sat down with Lara for an interview that will air this Sunday, May 1 at 7 p.m. ET on CBS.

Lara was reporting in Egypt on Feb. 11 covering the mass celebration of its revolution when her interpreter heard words from the crowd that caused him to advice Lara and her team to leave. Before they could make it out, a mob of several hundred men swept in on Lara.

She was separated from her team for about 25 minutes and endured a sexual assault and beating.

"There was no doubt in my mind that I was in the process of dying," Lara tells 60 Minutes. "I thought not only am I going to die, but it's going to be just a torturous death that's going to go on forever..."
