Lea Michele‘s main passion may be singing, but the songstress/actress/Broadway star also likes staying healthy and work out. She opens up in the June issue of Women’s Health magazine about how it’s hard to stay immune to the look-perfect pressure in Hollywood, her vegan diet and staying true to herself!
“I love myself, the way I look, my body, but sometimes I can’t help but feel insecure here,” Lea tells Women’s Health magazine about living under the scrutiny of the Hollywood spotlight. “It plays with your head.”
Lea also proudly opened up about not going under the knife, despite the rumors.
“The only girl in her high school class not to get a nose job,” the Glee actress says.
From the Broadway stage to the small screen, Lea has been launched into superstardom with her role as Rachel Berry on the hit FOX series Glee.
“I need some me time,” the busy 23-year-old actress said. “I have to remember to rest, because I have a natural energy and I don’t want to burn out”
A source of her energy comes from Lea’s commitment to a vegan diet.
“My idea of heaven used to be relaxing at home with a cheese plate and champagne.”
That all changed when she read the book Skinny Bitch “and it slapped me in the face”
“Coming from an Italian family, you can imagine (they) couldn’t understand,” Lea says. “But they respected my decision.”
Lea still eats fish, however, it is a choice she struggles with.
“I feel bad about it because fish are animals too,” she says.
