It’s been a rough year for Lily Allen! After experiencing a miscarriage and then blood poisoning, the pop star reveals she’s also been battling an eating disorder. After months of staying out of the spotlight Lily’s opening up about the heartbreak of it all.
According to The Daily Mail (via PopEater), Lily recently opened up about the miscarriage she and her boyfriend, Sam Cooper, experienced in October. At the time Lily was six months pregnant. She spoke out on a documentary, “Lily Allen: From Riches to Rags.”
Then one week after the miscarriage Lily was rushed to the hospital due to blood poisoning and needed emergency treatment! She said, “It was a really long battle — and I think that kind of thing changes a person.”
As if that’s not enough, Lily also recalled her eating disorder. “I used to vomit after meals. It’s not something I’m proud of. But, I tell you what, a lot of people came up to me telling me how great I looked and I’d be on the cover of every magazine.”
Although she thought she looked good and loved trying on clothes feeling like “a million dollars,” she wasn’t happy. “I would love to be the skinniest minniest person in the world but I can’t do that without being unhappy — I like food.”
Hopefully things are turning around for Lily. She and Sam got engaged in Bali on Christmas. He proposed on the balcony of their hotel when the sun set over the Indian Ocean!
