When Lisa Robin Kelly's shocking mug shot was released this week after being arrested on spousal abuse charges, the Web buzzed with allegations that the former That '70s Show star looked like she was on drugs. The actress appeared on Good Morning America today to speak out on those allegations and the charges against her.
"My poor mother has to look at that picture of me," Lisa, 42, explained to GMA through tears. "That doesn't look like me! That's not me!"
Lisa said she was "absolutely not" abusing drugs in the mug shot photo, saying, "There is nothing I was on or abusing at the time."
In fact, Lisa says she is three months sober and admits to having had a drinking problem. In 2010, she was arrested and charged with a DUI. The actress says she faced a terrible loss that caused her to turn to alcohol.
“I had lost a baby, as a result of that, I lost everything,” she said. “And I was abusing alcohol, which I no longer do. With That '70s Show, I was guilty — of the drinking problem — and I ran. And I am not running from this. And I have paid my dues.”
Instead, Lisa appeared on GMA to deny the charges of spousal abuse against her, saying, "This is all a bunch of made up stuff!" She also claimed that she was the one "roughed up."
Lisa is out on $50,000 bail after her ex-boyfriend, John Michas, went to police to file a complaint on Saturday.
