Want to know what it's like to live like a Real Housewife?
Well, now you can get an idea courtesy of Real Housewives of Orange County newbie Lydia McLaughlin who is opening up the gates to her palatial pad and allowing fans to take a tour —and OKMagazine.com has video and photos.
Starting off in every 'Housewives' favorite room —the kitchen!
Despite its gadget heavy interior, beautiful fitted cabinets, granite counters and state of the art appliances, Lydia confesses that she never cooks!
However, she has found a very unique use for the microwave—keeping cake cold!
Perfect for enjoying that left over piece of red velvet—yum!
Lydia describes her home decor as beachy, but elegant and contemporary—and the floods of natural light and large open spaces help fit that descpription to the T.
Facing the kitchen is a formal sitting area showcasing a huge fireplace and one of many of the art pieces owned by 31-year-old Lydia and her hubby Doug McLaughlin.
Like all good Housewives, Lydia has a well appointed dining room in which to entertain at the drop of a hat — but confesses, that when it comes to dinner parties the always laid center table is as virginal as her kitchen appliances!
However, it does provide a great setting in which to display her very favorite artpiece!
Lydia shares that she and Doug own an art studio, along with publishing Beverly Hills Lifestyle Magazine, and not surprisingly they showcase several of their works throughout their gorgeous home.
Case in point the interesting murial of magazine covers especially created for the couple which sits pride in place on the dining room wall.
There's floor to ceiling windows throughout the home and the decor is a tasteful mix of cremes and subtle hues, apart from the bedroom where Lydia shows her wilder side with a splash of dark red!
And then there's the shoes….
AND then there's the shoes….
