The NY Daily News was first to report that the troubled 27-year-old is on the lam, claiming that despite reports to the contrary, she never even checked into Morningside Recovery Center in Newport Beach.
Lindsay Lohan is in trouble yet again after breaking her plea deal by reportedly fleeing from rehab
The ill-feted rehab stint was shrouded in drama from the get-go, as Lohan decided last minute to not attend the court approved facility, The Seafield Center in Westhampton Beach, N.Y., as they did not allow smoking, opting instead for Morningside.
The switcheroo had already angered prosecutor, Terry White, who was in court Thursday alongside Lohan's defense attorney Mark Heller, who claimed to the judge his client had checked into the rehab facility.
Lohan was ordered to complete 90 days rehab and undergo intensive therapy as part of her plea deal in March
“We did not approve this facility, we didn't look into this facility, we don't know anything about this facility," White argued. "Then [Heller] shows up five minutes before the hearing and says, 'Here's a letter,' and I'm supposed to approve this? This is unacceptable.”
"My client is ensconced in the bosom of that facility right now," Heller swore in court. "She's going to meet later today with her psychologist, and her therapy and treatment are undergoing immediate commencement."
Lohan's attorney appeared in court Thursday morning claiming his client was 'ensconced in the bosom' of rehab
Meanwhile, TMZ posted photos of Lohan shopping at Fry's Electronics in Fountain Valley—when she was supposed to be rehabbing!
"She went shopping at an electronics store then she was on the (rehab center) property for a couple minutes but got spooked by the paparazzi,” a source told the New York Daily News. “She was saying, 'I'm not going to rehab. I'm not going to rehab. Take me back to the airport.'
Strange looking rehab! Lohan was spotted shopping at Fry's rather than undergoing treatment!
"She's headed back to LAX airport,” the source said at 3 p.m. E.T. “The hope is that someone talks some sense into her before she gets on another plane.”
If that is indeed the case, Lohan's next stint will likely be behind bars!
"If there's credible confirmation she's heading back to New York, then I'm going to have to go in and ask the court to issue a warrant,” White vowed.
If Lohan has broken her plea deal she will likely be heading for a long stint behind bars
