The rumor has been swirling since October but last night the NFL and NBC confirmed it! Madonna will be the featured performer at the Super Bowl XLVI halftime show on February 5!
According to Entertainment Weekly, the 53 year-old Material Girl will work with Cirque Du Soleil and Jamie King for the gig. It looks like 2012 is shaping up to be an exciting year for Madonna. Her drama W.E. will be released two days before the big game and she's also recording an album that will be released in the new year. Madonna follows in the footsteps of The Black Eyed Peas who performed during last year's halftime show. As for the year before that? The Who headlined the Super Bowl.
