Deal with it world. Madonna just doesn't like hydrangeas — it's not personal. The singer's rep issued a statement today after her dismissal of a floral bouquet of hydrangeas from a fan went viral on YouTube. And the 53-year-old star is not apologizing!
“She’s entitled to like any flower she wants and she didn’t want to hurt the feeling of the hydrangeas of the world … No disrespect to the hydrangeas lovers of the world but she prefers different types of flowers," her rep said in a statement to CNN.
The whole hydrangea business started while Madonna was promoting her new film, W.E. over the weekend. A fan came up to her press conference table and handed her a bouquet of purple hydrangeas as a gift.
While the singer/actress smiled and said “Thank you,” she shoved the flowers under the table after he left.
“I absolutely loathe hydrangeas," Madonna leaned over and told the woman next to her. “He obviously doesn’t know that.”
