After taking to her blog to describe being “blindsided” by ex-wife Melissa Etheridge, Tammy Lynn Michaels is fighting for sole custody of their three-year-old twins.
Less than a week after Melissa filed to formally dissolve their partnership, Tammy Lynn has struck back filing her own papers asking for sole custody of their daughter Johnnie Rose and son Miller, plus the spousal support that the rock singer appears unwilling to give her, reports E! Online.
Both women, who swapped vows in 2003, cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split in April. Melissa, however, wants joint custody of the twins, per her petition filed in L.A. Superior Court.
The singer also has two children with ex-partner Julie Cypher (and David Crosby).
Tammy Lynn gave birth to the twins in 2006 and Melissa adopted them. California law, post Prop 8, gives them domestic partnership rights, but not full spousal privileges.
