Michael J. Fox has a positive outlook on his life despite having to fight Parkinson's Disease for two-decades. In his new book, A Funny Thing Happened On the Way To The Future: Twists and Turns and Lessons Learned, Michael shares inspirational stories and life lessons for others to learn.

To sum up his new book, Michael shared with PopEater the most important lesson to take away.
"Life gets really good when things get terrible, "he said. "We all make plans, and somewhere along the way. Life will create holes, and we can fill them in ways we didn't plan or expect."
"I'm having a good time," Michael said of his positive outlook. "My life is richer because of the holes."

Parkinson's Disease has given Michael some great things along with the bad.

"I don't think I could have imagined the other things that have come into place. If I didn't have Parkinson's then my life would have been more of the same -- acting, traveling and being away from my family," he explained to PopEater. "My illness forced me to spend time with my family, to work on my foundation, and my life is so much richer because of it. It's altered my reality is such a positive way."

While he remains hopeful for a cure, he also says he remains realistic.
"I think so, but I'm also realistic about what it takes. For every breakthrough there are so many failures," Michael admitted. "What I want to do is embody hope for a cure. People know we are out there and actively working for a cure and we are making lots of strides in bio markers and promoting stem cell research."
