The Discovery Chanel has indefinitely postponed the UK television special, which was set to air a reenactment of Michael Jackson’s autopsy, according to new reports.

"Given the commencement of legal proceedings beginning next week, and at the request of Michael Jackson's estate, the scheduled broadcast of the medical documentary related to Michael Jackson's official autopsy has been postponed indefinitely,” a rep for the Discovery Chanel tells TMZ.

The rep names the Jackson estate, who previously called the idea of the show “shockingly distasteful,” as one of the reasons for canceling the special.

According to FOX 411, co-executors of Michael’s estate John Branca and John McClain sent a letter to the network asking to stop the program from airing.

"Discovery Channel made the correct decision in choosing to cancel this exploitative program. We are hopeful that this show will never run in any market in the future," the executors said on Friday after hearing the news that the special was stopped.
