Miley Cyrus on Meeting Boyfriend on Set: "I Owe Nicholas Big Time"

Miley Cyrus knows it wasn't just fate that brought her and The Last Song co-star turned boyfriend Liam Hemsworth together, it was Nicholas Sparks' perfect love story screenplay!

Nicholas doesn't just have a knack for writing the perfect love story, he also can write the perfect screenplay that sparks a fire between co-stars.

"I owe Nicholas big time," Miley said at a press conference for the film, PopEater reports.

Miley also tried to help Nicholas write her part, "I like animals, I like music and hot Australians," she joked. "I was trying to make him write that in."

The Hannah Montana star confessed that she and Liam became a couple off-screen after the movie finished shooting.

She fell for him right when he walked in, with only a little hesitation about how tall he was!

"He opened the door for me, and I was like, 'He's got the part,' " Cyrus said about Liam's audition. "And they were like, 'Let's read with him first.'"

The hunky Australian's first impression of Miley was shock over just how popular she is in America.

"I'd seen the show a few times," he explained. "But I had no idea of how big Miley Cyrus was."

But, Liam said, "She was amazing to work with."
