A jaw-dropping collection of music names, young, old, new and well-established, gathered in L.A. to record the 25th anniversary version of "We Are The World" yesterday, with proceeds from the single and music video going to Haiti earthquake relief.

The hit, originally recorded by the super-group USA for Africa, was written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie and produced by Quincy Jones.

Jennifer Hudson, who was fresh from her Grammy tribute to Michael, stopped to tell reporters that she was "excited to be here," at the Jim Henson Company's recording complex, reports E! Online.

"It was a very awkward feeling, to be honest," Céline Dion admitted of singing "Earth Song" without the King of Pop present, the previous night. But she was delighted about the "amazing opportunity" to re-create what Michael, Lionel, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan, Billy Joel, Paul Simon and fellow artists did 25 years ago.

Meanwhile, Entertainment Tonight's Mary Hart, who was the only TV host allowed into the recording (tune in to the show tonight to see her behind-the-scenes access), says that Jamie Foxx was using his Flip camera to record the event.

She also reveals that the late Michael Jackson will be included in the new recording. "Lionel Richie is thrilled with the turnout of stars from Pink to Jamie Foxx," she says.
