Nicole Scherzinger recently revealed that she suffered from an eating disorder throughout her years as lead singer for the Pussycat Dolls.

And The X Factor UK judge opened up in her VH1 Behind the Music special where she credits Formula One race car driver Lewis Hamilton with helping her to beat bulimia which she had suffered with for nearly a decade.

"[Lewis] gave me the courage to kind of end that disorder and that disease," Nicole revealed.

"He made me feel beautiful for who I am and not what pant size I'm wearing and that helped a lot."

Nicole and Lewis have been on-again, off-again for six years and she says they have "created a great bond" which helped her confidence.

"A little light came on in the back of my head and that's when I started to try and turn this around," the Hawaii-born performer revealed.

"I said, 'Wow, I've got to learn how to accept myself and my body.' I started to embrace myself as a woman and my curves."

Nicole says that she binged and purged "everyday for, like, years."

"Every time I had a second to be alone, I was doing something to myself. You get like, blisters on your hands or scars on your hands, and I'd try to hide those. I think the girls could tell," she said of her Pussycat Dolls bandmates.
