Nicollette Sheridan's 'Desperate Housewives' Case Declared a Mistrial

Nicollette Sheridan's wrongful-termination case against Desperate Housewives' ABC Entertainment was declared a mistrial today.

According to E! News, the jury was locked at 8-4 after 10 hours and 30 minutes of deliberation. The jury needed nine members to agree on a verdict, so the cause of death of Nicollette's character — whether for creative reasons or result of retaliation — remains unknown.

Nicollette was seeking nearly $6 million in damages, and both sides met Friday afternoon in settlement court to try to find a solution.

Outside the courthouse, Mark Baute, Nicollette's attorney, told reporters, "We got our story out there. We went up against a $50 million conglomerate who had 10 witnesses, and eight jurors said, 'No, I'm not buying what you're selling.' "
