FASHION: Nicole described her collection as "menswear-influenced" with a "glam rock" edge. The result was a slinky collection of sexy black tailored overcoats and sheaths and dark fitted jackets with black leather sleeves and sky-high leather boots. Black and grey dominated, her signature evening dresses replaced with slouchy wide-leg wool pants paired with asymmetrical corset tops and geometric digital prints. A metallic silver pencil skirt and super-skinny trouser provided a flamboyant pop.

BEAUTY: Sexy, smoky eyes looked like a scaled-down version of Natalie Portman's edgy Black Swan look. Paired with a nude lip, and slicked-back hair tucked behind the ears, the look was distinctly after dark.

COLOR/OVERHEARD: Fresh from dressing Susan Sarandon at this year's Golden Globes, Nicole Miller put the finishing touches to the models herself backstage. Her fashion week essential? "Potato chips," she confided. Meanwhile, out on the front row, supermodel Carole Alt was excited to attend her first Nicole Miller show. "We live near each other, so I see her all the time," she told OK!. "It's always a big complement to get invited to a designer's show because it means they like your style."
