OK!'s NYC Fashion Week Blog: Rebecca Taylor

Can’t make it to NYC for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week? Don’t worry, OK!’s got you covered! Today we checked out the Rebecca Taylor runway show for a sneak peek at the designer’s spring collection and loved every minute! Check out photos from the runway on OK!’s blog after the jump!

SHOW: Rebecca Taylor

WHEN: Sept. 9, 2011

WHO: Louise Roe, Jordana Brewster, Whitney Port, Sophia Bush, Ashley Tisdale

FASHION: The 35-piece collection was comfortable but flirty — with flowy dresses and slouchy sweaters in mostly nude and onyx-colored hues that were occasionally splashed with fun, citrusy pieces like lime skirts and lemon cropped crews. The layered skirts and loose silhouettes gave off a fresh vibe while the peek-a-boo blouses and asymmetrical glittery dresses exuded a distinct contemporary edge.

BEAUTY: As if they stepped right out a pool and onto the runway, the models (styled by Dai Michishita) wore their hair slicked-back and down. The choice of bold, blue eyeshadow and dewy skin by MAC makeup artist Sil Bruinsma complemented the mostly pale shades and stone-colored hues the collection. The models were styled by Kate Sebbah.

COLOR/OVERHEARD: The full house exuded a relaxed vibe courtesy of DJ Rafael Wallon-Brownstone, who opened the show with the funky grooves of Jam Hot’s “Just Be Good to Me.” TV starlets and Fashion Week regulars Ashley Tisdale, Whitney Port and Sophia Bush each wore trendy tan-colored heels that showed off their toned legs. Sitting pretty in a lacy, ruffled Rebecca Taylor dress. Jordana Brewster was chatting with fashion journalist Louise Roe and snapping pictures of her favorite outfits on her iPhone. The Dallas star told OK! that her fall must-have is a sheer coat so she’s not too hot on this season’s shoots.

When Whitney was asked if she would ever compete in Dancing With the Stars like her friend and Laguna Beach star Kristin Cavallari, the budding fashion designer replied, “I don’t know. Maybe if I get to design my own costumes.”
