And the Oscar goes to...Oprah Winfrey? Yes, you read that right. Hot off the press, the Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the queen of talk will receive an Honorary Oscar for her philanthropy work!
Oprah will receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award for her off-screen philanthropy on November 12, as noted by E! News. The 3rd annual Governors Awards will honor her good deeds such as her foundation, Angel Network and girls school in South Africa.
Looks like Oprah won’t be alone at the podium in November. James Earl Jones will earn a special statue for himself for his acclaimed roles. The Honorary Oscar will be presented to James who has appeared in over 50 films!
Lastly, makeup man Dick Smith will pick up a statue as well. The legend launched his career in 1945 and was dubbed with the nickname, “the Godfather of Makeup.”
