News travels fast in the Twitterverse, but don’t always believe the short 140-character updates you receive. Owen Wilson is the latest celebrity to fall victim to the string of celebrity death hoaxes that have “killed” some of Hollywood’s biggest names. Yesterday, Adam Sandler was on the block and Charlie Sheen also fell victim to a death prank. But don’t worry fans, Little Fockers won’t be the last time you see Owen on the big screen.

A faux report from the Global Associated News claims Owen died while at a ski resort in Zermatt, Switzerland.

“Wilson lost control of his snowboard and struck a tree at a high rate of speed… Wilson was air lifted by ski patrol teams to a local hospital, however, it is believed that the actor died instantly from the impact of the crash.”

The bizarre rumor sounds very familiar to a report that swept the Internet yesterday claiming Adam  died in the same type of fatal accident.

“Actor Adam Sandler is reported to have died shortly after a snowboard accident earlier today -December 28, 2010,” Global Associated News wrongly reported.

So be weary of where you find your news. We hate to hear about any more “untimely” deaths by Twitter!
