Sarah Jessica Parker's been called the "greediest woman" in Hollywood with regards to things such as her Sex and the City wardrobe, but her costume designer, Patricia Field, says it's understandable. "If there’s anything that makes her like that, it’s that she grew up poor, and she delights in all the things she can have and has," Patricia said.

"She’s lovely, she’s intelligent, she’s articulate," Patricia told reporters at her Payless event on Tuesday. "That’s my take on it."

But, she didn't stop there.

"She’s in a position where she’s offered many things. I am, as well. My take on it is her thing is that she comes from a family that was not wealthy at all, and it was a big family. She remembers her childhood as being poor, and when she had the opportunity to go and be Annie, and her career started as a child, she really helped support and provide for her family."

"Her mom is a teacher, but she had eight kids or whatever. It’s not that they were uneducated people, just you know," Patricia added. "She says that all the time – if there’s anything that makes her like that, it’s that she grew up poor, and she delights in all the things she can have and has."

"I believe that that’s true," she explained. "I heard her say it herself."

"In her contract, anything that’s owned by the movie company, it’s hers – the clothes," she stated. "That’s the contract.

"As far as other things, I am not the person who calls going ‘Hi, Nancy at Chanel, do you think Sarah Jessica could be gifted this skirt?’ I don’t do that. She has assistants," Patricia said. "I’m out of that whole world. It’s not my world."

"She’s a poor girl made good, and she, like, can’t stop."
