Phaedra Parks sparked some serious controversy last year when her husband, Apollo Nida, revealed that his wife hadn’t brought his children to visit him during his first few months in prison. But in a preview clip from Sunday night’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta finale, Parks reveals why she didn’t rush to take her children to see their father in the Kentucky prison.

Speaking on taking the couple’s sons, Ayden and Dylan, to the correctional facility as their dad serves his eight-year sentence, Parks says traveling to the prison isn’t a simple undertaking for her.

“I’m not sure when we will visit Apollo because Kentucky is not a hop skip and jump away from Atlanta,” Parks says in her confessional. She goes on to explain that the facilities have “rules for children,” and she had to contact the prison’s warden to find out when her infant son Dylan “would even be welcomed in a prison.”
